ABCDEFG, T for top and B for baking, can you spell the words with me.
As my children grew up and I visited their different class rooms I loved the clever ways in which letters and words of the week were hung on washing lines across the room. It reminded me of my old classrooms and how on hot days when the sun would pour into my class room and my concentration would drift off I would cast my eyes across the illustrated alphabet pinned around the room.
This influenced me to produce my own alphabet boarder as I loved the idea of a young child drifting off to sleep while memorising pictures to practising their alphabet in class.
To re create this memory I drew each letter and illustration in a vintage style using a soft range of muted colours on an aged cream background.
